There are several claims for the origin of the Espresso Martini. One of the more common claims that it was created by Dick Bradsell in the late 1980s while at Freds Club in London for a young lady who asked for something that would, "Wake me up, and then fuck me up." Vodka was all the rage back then and sitting right next to Dicks vodka stash was right next to the coffee machine. Light bulb moment, "Wake me up, and then fuck me up" and the rest is history.

Serves 2

2 ounces Kahlua

2 ounces Vodka

2 ounces Espresso

add a cookie monster hit with 1 ounce Frangelico

Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker with a hand full of ice, place lid on making sure the lid is tight - lets avoid a blender-with-no-lid situation.

Shake it, shake it like a polaroid picture. You want the ice to smash up while chilling the liquid down; this helps creates the frothy top.

Break the seal and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Use a super fine sieve over glass to create that classic, creamy froth.

Garnish with a few coffee beans to serve because we're faaancy
